Side Quest Psychotherapy | Jenna Stone, LCSW-C

At Side Quest Psychotherapy, your privacy is deeply respected and protected. This website does not collect any personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily choose to share it—for example, by submitting an interest form or contacting Jenna Stone, LCSW-C via email.

1. How Information Collection and Used

If you are a potential client seeking therapy or evaluation services, please complete the encrypted intake form located on the New Clients page. This form is powered by Paubox and ensures your information is submitted securely in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Once your form is received, follow-up communication will be conducted via encrypted email to protect your privacy.

If you are a provider, organization, journalist, or other professional reaching out for consultation, collaboration, or media purposes, you are encouraged to email hello@sidequestpsychotherapy.com—a HIPAA-compliant email address, secured and encrypted through Paubox.

Information you choose to share through this site—such as completing an intake form—will be used solely for administrative purposes, including determining fit for services, responding to inquiries, or initiating scheduling. Submission of information through this website does not create a therapist-client relationship. Clinical services are only established after mutual agreement and completion of required documentation.

2. Secure Communication & Contact Boundaries

Jenna does not publish a phone number on this website and is not available for direct phone contact from the general public. If you are a current client, you may call Jenna as needed using the secure methods you’ve agreed upon. For everyone else, including professionals and parents of potential clients, any necessary phone calls will be arranged through encrypted email and conducted using either the secure messaging app Signal or a HIPAA-compliant Google Meet link.

3. Telehealth Sessions

Telehealth sessions are conducted using Google Meet, which is included as part of Jenna’s HIPAA-compliant Google Workspace account. Google Meet provides end-to-end encryption and meets HIPAA requirements through Google’s Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Clients receive a private, secure link via encrypted email for each session. Sessions are not conducted via phone, FaceTime, Zoom, or other non-secure platforms unless explicitly agreed upon in advance.

 4. Data Storage & Recordkeeping

Clinical documentation, scheduling, and administrative communications are securely maintained using Google Workspace, with a signed BAA in place to ensure HIPAA compliance.

Google Workspace also complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is widely regarded as offering more comprehensive protections than HIPAA. Jenna has signed the required agreements within Google Workspace to ensure GDPR compliance for client data, and has proactively disabled Google’s Gemini AI features across their account to prevent unauthorized AI integration into client-related systems. To further safeguard your privacy, Jenna avoids storing client names or sensitive information in Google Calendar or unsecured documents. Nicknames or initials may be used as an added layer of protection. Secure email and encrypted file-sharing practices are used throughout the course of care.

5. Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Jenna primarily uses AI-based tools to streamline non-clinical workflows—such as creating documentation templates, enhancing accessibility resources, developing psychoeducational materials, and writing website or social media content. This use of AI is part of Jenna’s disability accommodations as a neurodivergent clinician, helping reduce cognitive load, support executive functioning, and ease the demands of written communication. These supports contribute to a more sustainable and accessible practice.

Jenna does not record therapy sessions or use AI to generate full clinical notes. On occasion, they may use AI to assist with limited elements of documentation—such as organizing thoughts, rephrasing general language, or clarifying standard phrasing (e.g., goals, interventions, or therapeutic themes). AI may also help refine wording when addressing sensitive topics like neurodivergence, gender identity, sexual orientation, or non-traditional relationship structures—in order to de-pathologize content, improve clarity, and code-switch when necessary to protect client autonomy and privacy.

Prompts are kept general and de-identified, and care is taken to avoid including any identifying client information or personal content in AI-related tasks. AI is used only to support phrasing—not to generate or interpret clinical material. All documentation is written, reviewed, and finalized solely by Jenna, and any AI-assisted content is carefully reviewed to ensure alignment with their trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and anti-oppressive values.

This limited and intentional use of AI helps sustain the practice while enhancing clarity, accessibility, and quality of care.

6. Third-Party Wellness Apps & Tools

As part of therapy, Jenna may recommend third-party wellness tools or apps to support tracking, emotional regulation, or habit awareness. These may include:

  • Recovery Record – A HIPAA-compliant app commonly used in eating disorder treatment for secure food and mood tracking. If this tool is appropriate for your care, Jenna may invite you to use it. Participation is always optional and based on mutual agreement as part of your treatment plan.

  • BelleVisible, Keen2 by HabitAware, How We Feel, and Finch – These tools are not HIPAA-compliant. While Belle and Visible are GDPR-compliant, it does not meet U.S. healthcare privacy standards. These apps are designed for personal use and may collect or store data in ways not governed by HIPAA.

Jenna has no financial relationship with any of these platforms and is not responsible for how they handle or protect your data. Clients are encouraged to review each app’s privacy policy before use. These tools are entirely optional and not required for participation in therapy. Alternative accommodations can always be made.
